An image that:

• attracts the eye of a customer to sell a publication from across a room
• informs a customer (reader, viewer, or player) “This is what you have been looking for!” 
    even if a person did not know that before seeing the cover.
• provokes curiousity to look inside or even to purchase to look inside
• the front surface of a book, box, comic book, magazine, newspaper, or package
